Health online program for Hajj 1435
The Assistant Deputyship for Planning & Training at the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Command & Control Center (CCC), is pleased to provide for all healthcare professionals in Saudi Arabia (especially those working at the Holy Sites) an online program titled “Dealing With Emerging Diseases in Hajj 1435”. The program consists of three separate courses and delivered completely online. It can be accessed anytime from your personal computer or from a mobile device.
Each course consists of a variety of videos, quizzes, and reading materials, as well as a discussion board to help participants interact with each other. The course will require 3-4 hours of guided self-study. The course is in English with Arabic subtitles. Each course will begin with a pre-assessment to test your current level of knowledge. At the end of the course, after finishing all the lessons, you will have the opportunity to take a final course assessment. All the courses have been accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as accredited CME activities.
 
Course #1: MOH-018x Infection Prevention & Control: What Healthcare Professionals Need to Know

This course will consist of a refresher on general principles of epidemiology and infectious disease control. The course will help learners to also describe the way that the agents, hosts and environment can come together to promote or protect against disease during the Hajj.
 
 
Course #2: MOH-019x Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV): What Healthcare Professionals Need to Know
This course will cover the epidemiology of the current MERS-CoV outbreak, recognizing signs and symptoms, as well as infection control measures. Participants will be able to describe the specific resources related to MERS-CoV prevention and care. Additionally, they will be able to summarize the pathways of what happens in the Ministry of Health healthcare facilities (patient flow) when a patient is identified to be a suspect of MERS-CoV infection. Lastly, participants will be able to describe the stages of laboratory protocol for MERS-CoV. 
 
Course #3: MOH-020x Ebola Virus Infection: What Healthcare Professionals Need to Know

This course will cover the epidemiology of the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa, recognizing the signs and symptoms of Ebola Virus infection, as well as its infection control measures. Additionally, participants will be able to describe the specific resources related to Ebola prevention and care. Participants will summarize the pathways of what happen in the Ministry of Health healthcare facilities (patient flow) when a patient is suspected of having an Ebola virus infection.
