Overview:
International Childhood Cancer Day is an awareness day for all children and adolescents with cancer to benefit from the best possible treatment, care, and support around the world.
Objectives:
- Raising awareness of early diagnosis and its effectiveness in reducing deaths from cancer and increasing the rate of recovery from it.
- Providing pediatric cancer treatment services, as it contributes to the success of treatment by up to 80%.
Facts:
Every year, approximately 400,000 people under the age of 20 develop cancer. The most common types of cancer in children are leukemia, brain cancer, lymphomas, and solid tumors, such as neuroblastomas and Wilms tumors.
