Health Days 2022

World Health Day
The World Health Organization (WHO) celebrated the World Health Day for the first time in 1948.  Since 1950, the World Health Day has been celebrated on the 7th of April. The World Health Day aims to shed light on a specific health topic to put a high-priority aspect in the global health field in the spotlight.
In the midst of a pandemic, a polluted planet, increasing diseases like cancer, asthma, heart disease, on World Health Day 2022, WHO will focus global attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy and foster a movement to create societies focused on well-being.
WHO estimates that more than 13 million deaths around the world each year are due to avoidable environmental causes. This includes the climate crisis which is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. The climate crisis is also a health crisis.
Take action, inspire others, and join our five-point plan:

  • Buy fresh food products from local producers, and avoid processed foods and drinks.
  • Tobacco is both deadly and polluting. Stop consuming tobacco.
  • Buy less plastic, use reusable grocery bags.
Previous years themes of the World Health Day have included the Nurse and Midwife, Universal Health Coverage (UHC), Depression, and others.
