World Cancer Day
Introduction:
Through the World Cancer Day, which takes place every year on 4 February, the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. World Cancer Day aims to prevent millions of deaths each year by raising awareness of individuals and governments across the world.

Facts:
  • ​Many types of cancer show early signs and symptoms, such as: cancers of the breast, cervix, colon, rectum, skin, mouth, and some childhood cancers. Early diagnosis facilitates treatment and improves its results.
  • Even if you do not show any signs or symptoms of cancer, examination of some types of cancer can show signs of having the disease, such as: cancers of the intestine, breast, cervix, colorectal (colon), and lung.
  • One third of all cancers are preventable.
Objectives of the World Day:
  • ​Reducing premature deaths from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by 25% by 2025.
  • Educating communities about cancer diseases and means to prevent them.
  • Encouraging early detection and preventive vaccines, as well as raising awareness of their importance.
  • Emphasizing that solutions are possible and available, and we as individuals, government and non-governmental institutions and agencies can provide means of support, awareness, and prevention of cancer.
