The Quality Assurance and Patient Safety General Department is pleased to issue the first edition of the »Saudi Patient Safety Taxonomy«. A team of quality and patient safety experts from different public and private health sectors have contributed to the development of this Taxonomy. It aims to provide unified patient safety concepts and definitions, to categorize events taking place at the health facilities, including hospitals and primary healthcare centers, and to estimate the degree of harm in these facilities.
