Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
What do we mean by the "Mode of Care"?
It is a system to provide health services, focusing on the citizen first through six main dimensions: preventive care, chronic care, urgent care, specialist and palliative care, as well as the care of women and child.
What objectives does the "model of care" seek to achieve?
The model of care aims to establish an integrated system that starts from activating the citizen's role before entering the health system and extends to specialized centers. The system provides the necessary knowledge to the citizen as part of his treatment and enables him to gain confidence to control his health.
How will the "model of care” affect the quality of care provided and what are the differences from the current model?
Our health system in the Kingdom in its current form is below the potential quality and efficiency. It does little to promote and maintain people's health before they get sick. Then, if they are ill and need health care, they have difficulties in accessing the service and spend too much time in hospitals. Also, the care they receive does not meet their satisfaction nor the desired quality standards.
The new model is designed according to various solutions and initiatives at various levels, including all aspects of health, to keep people healthy before taking care of them as patients, to enable healthy people to maintain their health and patients to have their disease treated. It supports their care first before addressing the complications of their diseases. The new model is keen to instill processes and explore experiences. It seeks to use resources wisely and effectively, and to make the most of technology and cutting-edge products.
What are the concrete results we expect from the Model of Care?
The model will reduce the burden of noncommunicable diseases and reduce waiting time for critical care and emergency room access.
The model will provide the necessary knowledge to the citizen as part of his treatment and enable him to control his condition by providing all the tools needed.
It will Ensure better health care coverage across the Kingdom.
The model will mainly activate the prevention role and reduce disease levels.
Who will monitor the implementation of this appropriate care?
The Ministry of Health and other regulatory entities.
Will the "model of care" include medicines and limits the lack of medicines in health facilities’ pharmacies?
The Model of Care will include optimal use of medicines, treatments, dispensations, quality and storage mechanisms.
How will this be done in villages and remote areas?
The new model of care will be implemented in all health facilities of the Ministry of Health across the Kingdom.
Who will monitor the performance of this model, what is the warranty?
Government companies will be responsible for implementing the new model of care under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and the higher regulatory bodies.
Will the inefficient medical, assistant or administrative staff in the health sector be dispensed ?
Staff efficiency will be improved, and the company will find a suitable environment to promote efficiency and productivity.
How can the “Model of Care” contribute to solving the major challenges facing health care in the Kingdom?
The Model of Care considers the problems of citizens and health practitioners, as well as their solutions. It aims to increase the efficiency of care and improve the use of resources.
Will the implementation include long queues solutions?
Long queues are one of the phenomena that indicate the defect in the current system. The new Model of care is based on the provision of service and care in a completely different concept which ensures that the problem disappears automatically, as the citizen will not have to wait for service or treatment.
