A) Global Current Situation (Phase 3):
Globally, the world is undergoing (Phase 3) of the pandemic right now. The preventive measures are basically centered on following up the global pandemic situation, and gathering better information on the disease, especially the viral mutations, in addition to getting ready for the global pandemic by:
- Proceeding on following up the pandemic situation, at both the global and local levels.
- Raising citizens and residents on the disease, and the ways of transmission and prevention.
- Providing adequate quantities of antivirals.
- Providing adequate quantities of anti-influenza vaccines.
- Providing the antiviral, and the specific vaccine when managing to produce it.
B) Local Current Situation (Phase 2):
Locally, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing (Phase 2). Yet, we have to get ready for the pandemic by:
- Activating the early preparations committees for fighting the pandemic throughout the Kingdom's regions.
- Epidemiological surveillance.
- Updating the National Campaign Against Bird Flu in accordance with the global developments, in coordination with the WHO and the other relevant organizations.
- Raising citizens' awareness on the disease, and the ways of transmission and prevention of it.
- Providing adequate quantities of antivirals.
- Providing adequate quantities of anti-influenza vaccines.
- Providing the antiviral, and the specific vaccine when managing to produce it.
