Hajj 1432

Physical and Psychological

Millions of Muslims of different races and various countries gather to perform this worship at a specific time and place, in addition to the requirements of this worship of continuous physical movement and effort multiplier. Accordingly, my dear Hajj pilgrim, you must be prepared physically and mentally just as you pack your luggage, but perhaps a bit more.

Physical and Health Preparation before Hajj :
There is no doubt that if the pilgrim enjoys good health and fitness he will be able to perform Hajj rituals easily.
Therefore, we recommend pilgrim to try to raise the level of his health and fitness before leaving home. These are some of the most important preparations:
  • Doing some exercise on a regular basis, especially walking which will help pilgrim to perform circumambulation (Tawaf) and Sa`I and protect him against cramp.
  •  Making sure to eat a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, juices and fluids, particularly those containing vitamin C and calcium.

Mental Preparation before Hajj :
Many pilgrims, especially those who perform Hajj for the first time, suffers from fears and concerns, but we assure that this fear is groundless, as evidenced by the desire of each pilgrimage to make another hajj. Therefore, you can follow the following tips:

  • Familiarize yourself with patience and endurance
  • Take things easily without nervous.
  • Learn how to coexist and integrate with others the right way, especially if you have persuaded yourself that these pilgrims are your brothers and you will get a great reward from God for this hardship. Therefore closer to God by helping others you will feel happy from where you do not know
Physical and Health Preparation during travel:
My brother pilgrim, whether you travel by plane, by bus or by car, the sitting for long periods of time will cause you to feel tired of them, so we give you some instructions to help you during your travel:
  • Make sure to eat balanced meals, avoid fatty foods and drinking more water.
  • Make sure to wear loose fitting clothes and comfortable shoes before performing the rituals.
  • Make sure to wear appropriate sunglasses to protect eyes from dust and sunlight.
  • Breathe deeply and slow down on a regular basis.
  • Try to move every couple of hours.
  • Move the abdominal and back muscles each period when you are sitting in your place.
  •  Move your feet each period when you are sitting and try to spread them from one moment to another.
  • When you stop at the rest house, walk and move your head, your neck and your back to avoid getting cramps.
  • Passengers can move periodically around the aisle of the plane between the seats once every hour or stand in their places if possible.
Dear Hajj Pilgrim, to prevent the nausea and travel sickness, we offer you the following tips:
  • Consult your doctor before you travel to take certain medications to prevent dizziness.
  • Eat a small amount of food before travel and avoid fat.
  • Try to sit in the most stable places such as the front seats in the bus and the seats closest to the wing of the plane.
  • Keep your face in front of your eyes and not stare at a specific something or focus your eyes to a specific part.
  • Try to get off the bus a few stops and walk a bit.
