According to Hail Health Affairs, over the past year and first quarter of 2019, King Salman Specialist Hospital served more than 109,845 patients at its outpatient and specialized clinics.
The Affairs said that the 500-bed hospital has become a reference hospital in the region after inclusion of a number of specialized clinics and centers such as diabetes and oncology centers. The hospital has successfully performed more than 1,136 qualitative and specialized surgical operations, some of them are for the first time in the region, and its laboratory section conducted more than 320,824 lab examinations during the same period. The section services are varied including immunologic, viral and hormonal tests and biopsy procedure. More than 20,932 examinations were conducted including X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI.
During the same period, 1,425 patients were received at emergency department, 1,170 hospitalized and 104,538 medications dispensed by the hospital pharmacy.
It is to be noted that the Affairs has recently launched palliative care medicine center, burn section, oncology center and ICU at the hospital.
