28 January 2018

A specialized medical team of Khamis Meshayt General Hospital has successfully ended a year-long suffering of a patient with sever pain, headache, left eye-popping, left nasal passage blockage and loss of his sense of smell.

Received by the hospital, the patient had primary checkups, including CT scans of his sinuses, and he was diagnosed with congestion in his left maxillary sinus, extended to the left orbit and sphenoidal sinus, in addition to abrasion of his left orbit base, apex, upper and posterior walls of the sphenoidal sinus.

As he was diagnosed with extended fungal sinusitis, the medical team conducted a laparoscopic procedure and successfully removed the blockage. The patient improved, fully recovered and restored his sense of smell by Alah's Grace.

It is noteworthy that the MOH has launched a daily specialization-based e-Waiting List for surgical operations on its online portal. The list features the MOH's hospitals, along with surgical specializations and corresponding waiting days respectively.

The list also includes five levels of waiting days, from one to 180 days.

By launching this initiative, MOH aims to update all patients and beneficiaries of services provided by its health facilities on the developmental efforts to boost performance levels, and to provide high quality services to satisfy and meet the health needs of citizens.
