3,847 Inpatients and 414 Surgeries at Al-Jouf Hospitals during Last August

According to Al-Jouf Health Affairs, during August 2017, 3,847 patients were hospitalized and 414 successful surgeries were conducted (at a rate of 13 surgeries a day) at Al-Jouf nine hospitals.
 
Most inpatients were served by Maternity and Children Hospital –Sakaka, with 1,137 cases, while 1,092 by Tabarjal General Hospital, 747 by Prince Mutaib Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital, 148 by King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital, 295 by Domat Al Jandal General Hospital, 52 by Al-Amal Mental Health Hospital, 344 by Suwair General Hospital and 30 inpatients by Abu-Ajarm General Hospital.
 
Also, the region’s hospitals conducted 205 routine and 209 one-day surgeries. Most of them were performed at Prince Mutaib Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital, with 171 surgeries, while 33 at King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital, 63 at Maternity and Children Hospital, 81 at Tabarjal General Hospital, 50 at Suwair General Hospital and 16 surgeries at Domat Al Jandal  General Hospital. Al-Jouf region features nine hospitals with 1,330-bed capacity.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which covers 70 main hospitals and aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, including emergency, clinics, surgeries, hospitalization, ICUs, radiology and labs. The program also aims to develop skills of health professionals to use the indicators and to identify performance improvement potentials, in compliance with patient safety and quality standards.
