MOH Launches “Hello, Healthy Ramadan” Program

The Ministry of Health (MOH) Media and Health Awareness Information Center launches during the Holy Month of Ramadan its annual Program "Hello, Healthy Ramadan" for the eleventh consecutive year. Through this Program, the Center will host a group of consultant physicians and specialists in all fields who have been selected based on the public's desire and their need to learn more about particular diseases more than others. This comes as part of the MOH's endeavors to help fasting people especially those who are ill to perform this Islamic pillar without any health problems.
 
Director of the Media and Health Awareness Information Center, Pharmacist Amal Abu Al-Jadayel, said that the Program is to be available for the public via the MOH toll free number: (8002494444), and the MOH account on Twitter: @SAUDIMOH, adding that the program comes as part of the awareness efforts carried out by the Ministry of Health to serve all people, maintain their health and safety and provide them with the medical advices and awareness guidelines.
 
Within the same vein, the Center will host on Sunday the first day of Ramadan (corresponding to June 29th, 2014) Dr. Um-Alkhair Abdullah Abu-Alkhair, a consultant in hematology and oncology, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to talk about patients with tumors, hematologic disorders and others who face great difficulty in organizing their medication and receiving their doses particularly if they are chemical or radiological ones while fasting.
 
Moreover, the Center will host Dr. Razan Al-Muharib, the Pediatric Dentistry Specialist, on Monday Ramadan 2nd, 1435 H (corresponding to June 30th, 2014) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to answer callers' queries on all matters related to dental diseases especially among children as well as providing the public with the most prominent tips to help children and their families avoid diseases and health problems which might affect children's teeth.
 
Likewise, the Center will host on Tuesday Ramadan 3rd, 1435 H (corresponding to July 1st, 2014), Dr. Rouaa Al-Harthy, a Consultant in Skin and Hair Diseases and Laser, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to answer callers' queries on all matters related to skin diseases and dealing with them in Ramadan.
 
In a similar fashion, the Center will host Dr. Khalid Al-Nemr, a Consultant in Cardiology, Arterial Catheterization and Tomography and Nuclear Imaging, on Wednesday Ramadan 4th, 1435 H (corresponding to July 2nd, 2014) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to provide health advices for cardiac patients and speak with them about the possibility of performing this Islam pillar during the fasting month of Ramadan.
 
Wrapping up the week, the Center will host on Thursday Ramadan 5th, 1435H (corresponding to July 3rd, 2014), Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes Dr. Eman Shisha from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to answer callers' queries on all matters related to the fasting of diabetics because they are suffering most compared to others from some problems as some of them feel a sudden decline in blood glucose and others feel uncontrollable dizziness and jerk.
