In fulfillment and completion of the organizational and supervisory role of the Ministry of Health according to the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, the Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, announced during the Ministry Branch Leaders Forum, which was held in the Eastern Province, that the Health Affairs Directorates in the regions and provinces of the Kingdom will be transformed into branches of the Ministry of Health. He pointed out that these branches will undertake the Ministry's organizational and supervisory role in the regions and provinces.
The decision comes as a part of the Ministry of Health's transformation by separating organizational and supervisory roles from the roles of financing and providing health services. This transformation was initiated with the issuance of the Cabinet decision to establish the Health Holding Company and approve the organization of the National Health Insurance Center, as well as the launch of health clusters in all regions of the Kingdom as the first phase, which was completed by the end of last year. The implementation of the second phase began in the middle of this year with the transition of health clusters to the Health Holding Company.
This decision reflects the commitment and interest of the wise leadership in providing all necessary resources to enhance the level of health services provided to beneficiaries, as it contributes to the comprehensiveness, efficiency, and integration of healthcare services across all regions of the Kingdom, in line with the objectives of the health sector transformation under Saudi Vision 2030.
It is worth noting that the health transformation in the Kingdom represents a shift in the concept of healthcare through the modern healthcare model. This model focuses on enhancing prevention before treatment, contributing to the provision of comprehensive healthcare, raising awareness, and facilitating access to healthcare services for all citizens, towards achieving good health and well-being of nation.
