The Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih, witnessed the inauguration of the unified platform for the Medical Referral Center.This came as part of a ceremony activities which included honoring the success partners and health care service providers distinguished in performing the center’s specializations for the year 2023.The unified platform of the Medical Referral Center is a national platform that aims to manage the workflow of medical referrals, follow up on capacity and beds, and manage treatment requests between regions and outside the Kingdom. Beneficiaries are transferred between health facilities inside and outside the Kingdom and between all levels of medical service provision. This is done through unified work procedures and legislation and through a unified electronic platform for referral, so that the follow-up of operations depends on real and transparent information about the capabilities of hospitals (health specialties, health personnel, bed placement, etc.) for all health sectors (Ministry of Health, other government sectors, the private sector) in real time when conducting the referral process and its follow-up, with the aim of reducing waiting lists for patients and reaching targets.It is noteworthy that the launch of the platform comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Health to achieve the goals of the health sector transformation program, in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, to facilitate access to health services and raise their quality.
