A medical team in Al-Ula Governorate at Prince Abdul Mohsen Hospital successfully managed to save the life of a girl who had suffered severe abdominal bleeding, in a 3-hour surgery. All praises be to Allah.
The Madinah Health Cluster said: The patient came to the emergency department suffering from severe abdominal pain. The necessary clinical examinations confirmed the presence of severe internal bleeding, resulting from the torsion and bursting of a 10*10 cm cyst on the right ovary.
The medical team treating the case indicated that the patient was immediately admitted to the operating room, and urgent surgical intervention was performed to stop the bleeding and save the patient's life. Where the cyst and the right ovary were removed due to prolonged blood retention and gangrene. Then she was supplied with blood and plasma, and transferred to the hospitalization room for follow up on her health condition until she recovers and leave safely.
It is worth noting that Prince Abdul Mohsen Hospital received 13,288 patients in the emergency department during the first quarter of 2023, while 8,035 patients visited the hospital’s outpatient clinics. 516 surgeries were performed, 1,508 dialysis sessions were performed, and 1,737 medical rehabilitation sessions during the same period.
