Al-Jalajel Chairs the Kingdom's Delegation to the 59Th Meeting of Arab Health Ministers' Council and its Executive Office in

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, chairs the Kingdom's delegation participating in the meetings of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly, which begins tomorrow, Sunday 21, and continues until the 30th of May at the headquarters of the World Health Organization in Geneva. His Excellency also chairs the delegation at the meeting of Arab Health ministers and its executive office on Saturday and Sunday May 20-21, 2023.
The seventy-sixth session this year is titled "WHO in 75 years: saving lives and promoting health for all", and in light of that many issues related to global health and preventive aspects are discussed. The series of strategic round tables for the meetings of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly includes participation of a group of health ministers from around the world, delegates, and experts from WHO, partner agencies, and civil society, to discuss current priorities and upcoming solutions on the most important issues about global public health importance.
It is worth noting that this session comes after the World Health Organization declared on May 5, 2023, the end of the emergency health situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic, during which the Kingdom showed outstanding success in addressing the pandemic and overcoming its repercussions, and it became a model for many countries in effective management of the crisis. Besides, the Kingdom was a model in preserving human health, which was achieved as a result of the unlimited support of the wise leadership, and what was defined by the ambitious vision of the Kingdom 2030, which drew the road map, and foresaw the future through the transformation of the health sector which had a direct impact in dealing with the pandemic and preserving lives through its qualitative initiatives and projects that include digital health transformation, expansion of service provision, the establishment of the Public Health Authority, the Crisis and Emergency Center, and other initiatives related to the health sector transformation program.
