Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Health launched the first conference on cochlear implantation and hearing diseases, at Al-Izdihar Holiday Inn Hotel in Riyadh.
The Ministry stated that it is working to ensure that the Kingdom ranks first in cochlear implantation at regional and global levels
The program targets the patient’s journey from the beginning of the newborn survey until rehabilitation for cochlear implants, in partnership with "Doctor for Every Family" program.
Hoping that the conference will come out of recommendations that contribute to progress and development in the field of cochlear implantation.
The Ministry of Health indicated that the two-days conference will discuss current challenges, visions and ideas about future plans, potential solutions in the field of healthcare for hearing diseases and cochlear implants at the regional and international levels, the latest findings of advanced health information technology, and ways to benefit therefrom, noting that the conference focuses on raising efficiency in dealing with modern hearing test devices, therapeutic and rehabilitative programs and using them in the areas of audio programming for all beneficiaries, in addition to enhancing virtual rehabilitation services in hearing diseases, and developing necessary skills to deal with children with cochlear implantation.
The conference includes holding of 6 workshops concerned with administrative coordination of cases, and workshops for audiology, communication, and balance, in addition to launching two major initiatives, including Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Unit of Balance in every cochlear implant center, and linking newborn hearing screening centers with cochlear implant centers in the Kingdom, by Through an electronic platform to raise efficiency and quality of case follow-up.
