A specialized surgical team in Qassim conducted a complex corrective operation for a girl who had deformed feet since birth, which enabled her to practice walking after facing severe difficulty in walking, in a successful surgery that lasted 3 hours, all praises be to Allah.
Qassim Health Cluster said that joint and orthopedic surgeons at Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraidah performed a delicate surgical intervention to correct the feet of a 6-year-old girl, as clinical, laboratory and radiological examinations confirmed presence of congenital deformity of the feet and difficulty in walking.
The medical team confirmed that it was decided to perform a surgical intervention and perform a corrective osteotomy for all metatarsal bones of the right and then the left foot, and then bones of the feet were redirected to normal position and fixed with special metal skewers. After the operation, she left hospital with her family in full health and wellness.
It is worth noting that number of surgical operations carried out by Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraidah in the past year 2022 amounted to 7543 operations, of which the number of routine operations was 4023 operations, while the one-day surgeries amounted to 585 operations, and the number of emergency operations reached 2936 operations, of which 2044 operations children, and 5499 operations of women.
