According to Asir Health Affairs, over the past year, the Regional Laboratory and Central Blood Bank have conducted more than 500,596 lab tests, received 24,404 samples with 360 donors. Also, they have withdrawn 620 units, disbursed 300 bags, and carried out 6 blood donation campaigns, it said. It added that 192 medical examination devices were secured in the different sections of the laboratory.
It is noteworthy that the Regional Laboratory and Central Blood Bank in Asir have recently obtained the accreditation certificate by the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
