According Najran Health Affairs, over the past year, the regional laboratory has conducted 166,976 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The regional laboratory and central blood bank has conducted 332,174 lab tests, including 19,855 blood tests, 58,440 toxicology tests, 31,549 infectious screenings of blood donors, 3,627 bacterial water tests at facilities, and 106,976 hormone tests for adults and newborns,” stated the Affairs.
The Affairs added that the tests featured 44,252 viral tests, including 587 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, 40,817 serological tests, and 6,446 premarital screenings, including 665 tests for non-Saudis, 747 expatriate medical checkups, 962 pre-employment tests, and 10,875 medical tests for the driving license.
Besides, all hospitals in the region have been enhanced through various campaigns with 7,896 units of blood products. During such campaigns, the benefits and importance of blood donation have been shown to blood donors, in addition to fostering the culture of voluntary blood donation among community members.
