According to Asir Health Affairs, 35 long-term care beds have been activated and operated at three hospitals (Ballahmer, Ballasmer, and Rijal Almaa) to provide extended care and support services for patients with chronic diseases who are unable to care for themselves. The service also takes care of disabled patients.
These services include medical, nursing, and respiratory care, medical rehabilitation, and therapeutic feeding, it said, adding that the beneficiaries of the extended care services are coma patients, quadriplegic cerebral palsy cases, respiratory care patients, and age-related diseases.
