Najran: 18,000+ Home Medical Visits Conducted in 6 Months

​According to Najran Health Affairs, over the first half of this year (2021), the Home Healthcare Program has conducted 18,430 home visits, benefiting 1,709 patients enrolled in the program through eight hospitals, namely: King Khalid Hospital, New Najran General Hospital, Maternity and Children Hospital, Sharurah General Hospital, Habona General Hospital, Badr General Hospital, Khabash General Hospital, and Erada Complex for Mental Health. Also, COVID-19 vaccine has been given by a qualified medical team to 779 patients at their homes.


It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health (MOH) provides the home medicine program services through qualified medical teams at several hospitals and medical cities across the Kingdom. The services are provided to patients with the engagement of their families as per approved standards.

Moreover, the health services provided by the home medicine program include comprehensive medical and nursing care, following-up bed-ridden patients and the elderly and their chronic diseases, such as: high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, injury care, bedsore, tubes, catheters, intravenous therapy, palliative care, and care for patients with psychiatric and neurological diseases, in addition to providing physical therapy service, respiratory therapy, clinical nutrition, and social services. The other main services include health education for patients and their families. They are not restricted to health, psychological and social services only. They also include the provision of medical supplies and devices and medicines needed by the patients.
