Since the beginning of this week, the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the General Administration of Pharmaceutical Care, is implementing several awareness activities and events marking the environment week under the theme (together towards a safe and healthy environment). The activities are carried out at all hospitals in regions and health clusters across the Kingdom, with the aim of addressing wrong environmental behaviors to achieve a pollution-free environment, and overcoming all difficulties in an endeavor to provide the necessary health care through an environmentally friendly process.
It is noteworthy that these activities and events include awareness and guidance materials on encouraging environmental commitment, raising the sense of responsibility to correct wrongdoings, and enhancing positive practices inside hospitals and healthcare centers.
Also pharmacists in hospitals, during this week, will unify their environmental messages. In this regard, MOH has issued guidelines on how to safely dispose of medicines and expired medications as well as discarding sharps at homes.
