According to Najran Health Affairs, during the last January, the Regional Laboratory has conducted 1,735 lab tests, including 527 premarital tests, 1,143 driving licenses, 28 employment testing, and 37expats screening. It pointed out that premarital screening contributes to reducing the spread of some genetic blood disorders (e.g. thalassemia and sickle cell anemia) and infectious diseases (e.g. hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV/AIDS).
