Medical Rehabilitation Center at King Fahd Central Hospital in Jazan Benefits over 5,000 Patients

The Medical Rehabilitation Center at King Fahd Central Hospital in Jazan provided its services to 5,131 beneficiaries since early January till late October. The number of treatment sessions provided by the Center reached 29,986, with all preventive and precautionary measures taken during the period of spread of COVID-19.​

Jazan Health Affairs stated that the center has received 1,728 physiotherapy cases and 1,845 naturopathic medicine cases. Moreover, 421 cases of occupational therapy have benefited from the center's services, in addition to 164 speech therapy cases. The prosthetics section alone has received 1,153 cases.

The Center has offered a total of 29,986 treatment sessions, including 20223 physiotherapy sessions. Furthermore, 4,168 naturopathic medicine visits were made, in addition, 2,401 occupational therapy sessions, along with 940 speech therapy sessions. The Center has also performed 2,254 medical procedures in the prosthetic section, where new prostheses (manufacturing training) were provided to patients. Additionally, maintenance and follow-up on prostheses, medical splints for adults and children, back belts, and other prosthetic devices was conducted.

The hospital’s Medical Rehabilitation Center is the only specialized center in the region. It contains several specialized sections, including the sections of naturopathic medicine, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, and prosthetics.
