Health Cluster in the Eastern Region Launches Digital Walking Challenge

In parallel with the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month observed every October, the First Health Cluster in the Eastern Region has launched a «Digital Walking Challenge» initiative from Wednesday to Friday, October 28th to 30th, 2020. The initiative targets all segments of society to participate in sporting activity that, in turn, contributes to success of cancer treatment journey, by means of improving mood, promoting mental health, and maintaining a healthy weight, in addition to playing a key factor in enhancing disease prevention.


The challenge requires that each participant shall walk individually in any suitable place, in line with safety and precautionary measures, meanwhile using any suitable walking apps that indicate the date and distance (in kilometers). Then, the participant shall submit the total kilometers achieved over the three days via the link sent to him/her by mail after registration for determining the winning participant.

The winner, who will achieve the highest number of kilometers, will be announced and honored via the Health Cluster’s platforms on social media, with the exception of those winners among women with breast cancer or recovering from it, as they will be honored separately on the Health Cluster’s platforms for their active participation.
 
It is noted that the Health Cluster has provided registration link for the challenge on all social media platforms for those wishing to take up this challenge. Hence, the Health Cluster calls on people to register and participate by documenting their walking activities through the challenge hashtag: #Digital_Walking on social media platforms.
