According to Bisha Health Affairs, King Abdullah Hospital has inaugurated Nuclear Medicine Unit that receives patients and provides them with distinctive diagnostic services. The unit is a qualitative leap that will contribute, Allah Willing, to the development of comprehensive examinations for patients; the matter which will lead to more accurate diagnosis of relevant various diseases.
It is noted that this Nuclear Medicine Unit conducts radioisotope scintillation scanning (scintiscan) using radioisotopes. The radiation dose is administered to the patient intravenously or orally; thus the patient will be the radioactive person and the device will be the recipient of this radiation, unlike ordinary x-rays.
