MOH Reports 1,881 New COVID-19 Cases, and Confirms Wearing Masks When Going Outside

​​According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 1,881 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 87,142 cases, including 22,311 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 461 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 1,864 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 64,306 cases, All praise is due to Allah.


 “The new confirmed cases include 37% Saudi citizens and 63% non-Saudi residents. About 28% of the cases are females, and 72% are males. Only 4% of the reported cases are older persons, 11% are children, and 85% are adults,” MOH stated.

MOH added that these new cases were distributed as follows: 668 in Riyadh, 293 in Jeddah, 290 in Dammam, 164 in Makkah, 62 in Jubail, 39 in Hofuf, 27 in Al-Muzahimiyah, 22 in Qatif, 21 in Khulais, 20 in Al-Kharj, 19 in Madinah, 19 in Hail, 17 in Taif, 14 in Dhahran, 13 in Raqaye Al-Jamsh, 11 in Al-Khobar, 11 in Wadi Al-Dawasir, 10 in Abha, 10 in Safwa, 9 in Tabuk, 8 in Najran, 7 in Bisha, 7 in Afif, 7 in Hotat Bani Tamim, 6 in Buraydah, 6 in Hafr Al-Batin, 6 in Arar, 5 in Sharurah, 5 in Dharma, 5 in Huraymala, 4 in Al-Majardah, 4 in Muhayil Asir, 4 in Ras Tanura, 4 in Baish, 4 in Al-Kamil, 4 in Al-Majma'ah, 4 in Al-Rayn, 3 in Al-Namas, 3 in Khamis Mushayt, 3 in Al Khafji, 3 in Al Batha, 3 in Laila, 3 in Al-Sulayyil, 3 in Al-Zulfi, 2 in Nimrah, 2 in Al-Sahn, 2 in Balsamer, 2 in Rijal Alma', 2 in Jazan, 2 in Al-Khasrah, 2 in Al-Quwayiyah, 2 in Hotat Sudair, 2 in Ruwaidah Al-Ard, in addition to one case in each of Al-Jafr, Al-Oyoun, Al-Quoz, Ahad Rufaida, Al-Ba’ir, Al-Nuairiyah, Al-Ghazaleh, Al-Shamli, Al-Harth, Al-Eidabi, Yidma, Al-Artawiyah, and Al-Bejadyah.

Moreover, 22 new deaths have been reported in Makkah, Jeddah, Dammam, Tabuk, and Al-Sulayyil, aged 42-93 years old and most of them were suffering chronic diseases; bringing the total deaths to 525 (at a rate of 0.6%), while recoveries amounted to 74%.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 6,193,548 cases, of which 2,656,267 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 372,479.  

Regarding the lab tests in the Kingdom, new 15,854 lab tests have been conducted, bringing the total tests to date to 838,623. The reliable information about COVID-19 could be obtained from «Coronavirus Prevention» website. Besides, MOH has called all people to keen to frequently wash their hands with water and soap, as it is the major shield against coronavirus, and to wear medical or cloth face masks, or any mouth-nose covers, except those who are alone in a closed area.

MOH reiterated that anyone, who has symptoms or wants an assessment, can use the self-assessment service on «Mawid» app. Those, who have questions, can also inquire or seek advice by calling the 937-Service Center, available 24/7. The Center is now made closer to everyone than ever. The public can also benefit from its interactive services through WhatsApp app. on the number 920005937. They can have access to health information and updates on COVID-19. The service also provides users with information on blood donation and primary health care centers (PHCs). Besides, it enables them to reserve appointments.
