04 March 2020
The committee concerned with following up on the status of the novel coronavirus held its 14th meeting, today (Wednesday), under the chairmanship of the Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah and the attendance of the committee's members representing a number of relevant government sectors.

Following the meeting, Al-Rabiah said that there is full coordination and harmony between the committee's members and the government bodies they represent to protect the Kingdom from the novel coronavirus.  The condition of the citizen, who tested positive for coronavirus, is stable and he is isolated in a hospital, he said, adding that 70 people, who were in contact with the coronavirus-infected man, have been located and tested. He confirmed that 51 of them were tested negative, pending the remaining results. Their health status will be followed during the next two weeks to ensure that they are safe with no symptoms, he added.

Al-Rabiah underlined the importance of obtaining information from its reliable sources, the Ministry of Health, and not listening to rumors, pointing out that MOH is committed to transparency and disclosing any new cases, as it had dealt with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). He called on everyone to benefit from MOH's awareness-raising programs.
