MOH: Five Steps for Protection against Coronavirus
04 February 2020

Through an infographic published on its Twitter page, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has underlined the importance of adhering to five steps to protect yourself from the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). These steps are: avoid close contact with a person exhibiting flu or cold symptoms, pay attention to your personal hygiene, maintain the etiquette of sneezing and coughing, avoid unsafe handling of both wildlife and domestic animals and cook your food thoroughly especially meat and eggs.

These steps come in continuation of MOH's awareness-raising activities to deal with the 2019-nCoV. It pointed out that the common symptoms of coronavirus are: fever, cough, and shortness of breath. In some cases, it develops pneumonia. The virus may also develop serious complications for those suffering immunodeficiency or chronic diseases, as well as older persons.

If you have respiratory symptoms MOH recommends that you should stay at home, avoid close contact with other people, avoid traveling, cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds.
