Jazan: Over 2,000 Beneficiaries of Breast Cancer Early Detection Clinic

​​According to Jazan Health Affairs, the breast cancer early detection clinic of King Fahad Hospital has served 2,672 women since its launch in 1438H until 1440H. ​

"During the same period, the clinic detected 71 breast cancer cases, 50 of them had surgery followed by chemotherapy and 21 cases had chemotherapy and then a surgical procedure. Also, the clinic detected 120 cases with benign tumors, which were surgically operated at the one-day clinic. In addition, due screening proved that 1,656 cases were free from any symptoms or medical problems in the breast" adds the Affairs. 

In addition, the clinic performed necessary screening and x-ray tests for 216 cases and gave them follow-up appointments. As well, 210 cases with family history were given follow-up programs, including appointments for examinations and mammogram. 

It is noteworthy that the clinic receives women directly without medical referral and is open for all on Thursdays from 01:00 pm to 03:00 pm.
