1100 Patients with Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases Served by Al-Qurayyat General Hospital in 6 Months

According to recent statistical data disseminated by Al-Qurayyat General Hospital, it has provided its health services to 1,100 patients with arthritis and rheumatic diseases for just six months. “The hospital has allocated three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) for supervision of a consultant of rheumatology and internal medicine through arthritis and rheumatic diseases clinics for (elderly, adults, and children). Hence, the hospital provides those patients with clinical examinations, laboratory tests, and all diagnostic tests and radiology examinations (e.g. ultrasound scans) for rheumatic diseases, as well as dispensing all types of medications (including modern biological therapy), which are used in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatic diseases,” stated Al-Qurayyat Health Affairs.


The Affairs added that the hospital treated 40 patients (by using biological therapy that is given orally and under the skin), in addition to 21 children. Also, the hospital diagnosed and treated 110 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 16 with systemic lupus erythematosus, 20 with gout, 9 with psoriatic arthritis, 10 with ankylosing spondylitis, 250 with degenerative arthritis, and 30 patients with Sjögren's syndrome).

It is worth mentioning that Al-Qurayyat General Hospital has implemented development programs and plans, which reflected on the high efficiency of the hospital's emergency and therapeutic services. This has been achieved through the establishment of an electronic follow-up mechanism for patients; to ensure a smooth and secure service and to improve the productivity KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
