18 November 2018

According to Riyadh Health Affairs, over the past year, Afif General Hospital provided health services to 164,050 patients, including 103,224 at emergency department and 60,826 at outpatient clinics.

The Affairs indicated that 3,912 cases were hospitalized at different departments and specialties and 163,147 lab and x-ray examinations were conducted including 142,434 lab tests and 20,713 x-ray examinations. In the same vein, primary healthcare centers in Afif sector (34 centers) served 309,650 patients.

It is worth mentioning that Afif General Hospital has launched «Dawaie» - or My Medication - Initiative, which is an electronic program for dispensing and following up chronic disease medications, with the aim of providing excellent health services to beneficiaries. It is an easy-to-use program which records data of any patient taking chronic disease medications such as diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, thyroid, epilepsy, mental illness, and others; thus, contributing to preventing duplication of dispensation between health centers and hospitals. This will guarantee that every patient will receive his/her medications on the date recorded by the pharmacist (a month, 3 months, more or less). Also, the e-program sends a reminder message to the patient before the dispensation date, and provides statistics of the chronic disease patients as well as the used medications on monthly or annual basis and at any time.
