Taif: King Faisal Medical Complex Enhanced with Cutting-edge Endoscopic Devices

​According to Taif Health Affairs, the Endoscopy Department of King Faisal Medical Complex has been enhanced with new cutting-edge endoscopic medical devices. These devices include 3 complete and state-of-the-art towers and 11 cutting-edge speculums (used for esophagoscopy, gastroscopy, duodenoscopy, and colonoscopy), in addition to one complete unit with four endoscopic devices for bronchoscopy. 

“Since 2017, the Department has performed 3,454 endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic upper & lower gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopies. Besides, the Department has performed advanced endoscopic procedures, such as: therapeutic endoscopic cholangiography, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), endoscopic removal of intragastric balloon, esophageal stent placement, stent placement for endoscopic pancreatic pseudocyst drainage (PPD)”, stated the Affairs.

It added that the Department features two examination rooms, four rooms for GI endoscopic procedures (esophagoscopy, gastroscopy, duodenoscopy, colonoscopy, and rectoscopy), one isolation room, a room for capsule endoscopy, eight recovery beds, and two cleanrooms. Also, the Department is enhanced with two consultants and five specialists. Furthermore, it includes cutting-edge endoscopic devices, a consumables warehouse, and automated cleaning/ disinfection machines. The Department receives patients referred from hospitals of Taif, Al-Bahah, Baljurashi, Sabt Al-Alaya, and all other cities in the Western Region.
