The Department of Surgery at King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital-Taif has successfully increased the average of the one-day surgeries by 90% of cases. Over the past year (1439H.), the hospital performed 8,819 surgeries, including tumor removal, vascular, ophthalmology, keratoplasty, laparoscopic colectomy, orthopedic, knee replacement (arthroplasty), synthetic bone graft (Hydroxyapatites), major cosmetic, and laparoscopic bariatric surgeries.
Within the same vein, the Same Day Surgery (SDS) Department performed 4,682 surgeries in all specialties. This comes as part of the endeavors carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide more beds for emergencies and reduce the patient wait times.
