The Ministry of Health (MOH) continues activating the Patient Experience Center (PEC) to provide top healthcare, in line with National Transformation Programs and the Saudi Vision 2030. PEC is set up after transforming the Patient Rights and Relations Department (PRRD), to implement the patient-centered healthcare in compliance with the new Vision, which puts the promotion of health services atop its priorities, while engaging service recipients in health decision-making. Also, MOH seeks to make PEC as a link between services providers and beneficiaries to ensure their optimal satisfaction with MOH's services and all of its health facilities. In this regard, a new strategy is in place to consider complaints, feedback and suggestions received from patients and their families, in addition to indicators to measure their satisfaction with MOH's services. Thus, such analytics can be used to further develop health facilities.
In the same vein, the Patient Experience Center has recently organized a workshop titled: “Medical Acknowledgment: its Health and Legal Frameworks”. The workshop brought together an elite of professors, judges, members of the Council of Senior Scholars, human rights activists and beneficiaries of MOH's health servics.
The workshop aims to develop a Patient Acknowledgment Manual, to promote health awareness, and to foster the culture of patient acknowledgment, through engaging patients, their families, and beneficiaries of health services, as well as seeking views of experts and specialists in this area.
The workshop addressed several themes, including: health-legal issues, medical acknowledgment parties, medical cases and specialization determination, as well as medical training and research. An elite of physicians, judges and faculty participated with research papers. In addition, several nurses participated in the workshop to present their experience with medical acknowledgment system throughout their service in health facilities.
