His Excellency the Minister of Health has patronized today in Riyadh, the expanded meeting organized by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for the private sector health services providers. He stressed that the private sector is the main partner of the MOH, working hand-in-hand, in the long process of taking the health field to greater horizons, and to have a sophisticated health services not only at the local level but also the international level and in order for the Kingdom to become healthy advanced country and provides its services in the field of medical tourism with the highest quality.
Through its different axes, the meeting underlined the importance of activating partnership between the MOH and private sector and their great cooperation in all health sectors, in an endeavor to spread the services to all parts of the Kingdom. It also shed light on the importance of the private health sector and its effective role in supporting the process of heath work in the Kingdom, being the main partner of the MOH and a vital tributary of its efforts exerted for developing the health sector and improving the health services provided to citizens, in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program (NTP), besides investing all available capabilities and achieving optimal benefits of them so as to be positively reflected on raising the level of performance and efficiency in both the government and private health sectors. This came in implementation of the royal directives which always stress the need for harmonizing and joining efforts among all community institutions to serve the citizen and provide a decent livelihood for him. This is in light of the MOH's efforts through many initiatives, notably: the establishment of the assistant agency for investment to motivate the private sector, although the motivation and supervision are not something new, but they have now become connected to motivation in the public and private sectors, being two important factors in the success of existing cooperation with the MOH.
Also, the meeting touched on the trend recently taken by the MOH regarding the launch of the e-service for issuing and renewing medical licenses and practice requirements which will speed up the issuance in just few minutes, as well as mobile clinics services and ambulatory transport at the private sector level. In addition to community partnership through the existing charitable organizations, which helps the private sector with efforts and ideas, or charity projects, and the importance of focusing on high quality and future outlook to show investment outcomes, in the long run, reflected in providing health and treatment services and partnership between the MOH and the private sector.
The meeting was accompanied by a number of workshops which witnessed many discussions about the topics on the agenda, including: contribution of the private sector to the transformation program, supporting local industry, challenges or obstacles facing the investment environment in the health field, monopoly, competition and the market structure, as well as the issue of voluntary charity work. The useful discussions on these topics produced many outcomes and recommendations on which the MOH will cooperate with the private sector in order to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom vision.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development Mr. Fahad Al-Jalajel, His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs Mr. Hamad Al-Duweila' and His Excellency Fahad Al-Sukait, Advisor to the General Secretariat of the council of Ministers.
