Thanks to Allah, a medical team led by Consultant Otolaryngology Dr. Rabie Alsabila has conducted a cochlear implant on 4-year old fraternal twins, at King Abdulaziz Specialized Hospital in Al-Jouf.
It is noteworthy that the twins were born deaf and hearing aid didn't help them. The surgery was successful and they have been discharged from the hospital.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed that the success of the surgery reflects efficiency of the medical and nursing staff and an integrated system enabling them to diagnose and implant the cochlear and follow-up the cases. The surgery is the 9th of its kind; within a series of quality surgeries conducting by the specialized hospital in Al-Jouf, and it is the only hospital conducing such surgeries in the northern region.
