MOH: ‘The Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2016 to Kick off on Tuesday’

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has finished its preparation for the Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2016 that will kick off next Tuesday and will last over the period from November 22nd to 24th, 2016 (corresponding to Safar 22nd to 24th, 1438H) at Al-Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh. The conference aims at building the national competences in the health simulation domain, linking them with the relevant entities in this respect, approving the mechanism of training using health simulation, and the mechanism of granting or renewing license for individuals and centers in the health simulation domain, in addition to the simulation-based vocational education using the modern technologies in the fields of education and training that ensures the patient safety in the first place and guards him against mistakes.
 
The conference will be attended by elite of 64 national and international speakers and experts from global organizations, specialized in health simulation and qualified to develop plans and standards and accredit simulation centers worldwide. The conference will be accompanied by a number of diverse workshops specialized in this respect, in participation with 40 deans of medical and nursing colleges in the Kingdom and the Dean of Dubai Medical College.
 
The MOH highlighted that the conference is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) with 24 hours of Continuing medical education (CME), the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM), and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Besides, the conference will coincide with community participation to teach 400 trainees among civil defense officers and staff to qualify them practically on how to save patients’ lives.
