12 October 2016
Within the framework of the developmental movement carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to promote its services and meet the health needs of citizens throughout the Kingdom's regions and governorates, the MOH has established a complex for neonatal services at the Gynecology, Obstetrics & Pediatrics Hospital in Al Jouf. The complex includes hearing screening clinic, heart screening clinic, disability prevention screening clinic, retinal screening clinic for targeted groups, preliminary mandatory vaccinations clinic, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccination clinic, healthy children follow-up clinic, and report of birth office.

The Ministry has pointed out that the complex offers many advantages, including assembling the services needed for the newborns in one place; in an endeavor to make work procedures easier without having to visit different places at various times, as well as increasing these screenings to the percentages targeted by the MOH up to 100 %, Allah Willing. The benefits also include linking the report of birth to the completion of screening; the matter which leads to early detection of diseases that may cause disability for children such as hearing disorders, heart defects, retinal diseases, and metabolic diseases and their impact on child's physical and psychological health.

Within the same vein, the Ministry underscored its keenness to invest all available capabilities and to meet patients' wishes, in such a manner that achieves their aspirations and contributes to upgrading the performance level in its health facilities.
