Thanks be to Allah, the MOH's Referral Program (Ehalati) has managed to save the lives of 97 patients, after delivering specialized services at the reference hospitals, and referred 4.686 others over the period from August 30th to September 5th, 2015 (corresponding to Dhul-Qi‘dah 15th to 21st, 1436H). This comes as part of the unstinting support given for providing specialized therapeutic services amongst the regions of the Kingdom.
This was announced by the Supervisor of Ehalati Program, Mr. Suleiman Ahmad Al-Sharie, who revealed that out of the referred cases, through automated and paperless systems, to the specialized and reference hospitals, 2,957 patients (amounting to 63.1%) were approved, 1,267 progressing cases (at a rate of 27%) are still being considered, while 294 cases (at a rate of 6.3%) received their treatment in the same hospital, and 168 cases (at a rate of 3.6%) were placed on the waiting list, and will be handled in the coming period depending on the health condition.
Mr. Al-Sharie pointed out that the life-saving cases amounted to 97 (at a rate of 2.07%), whereas the emergency cases amounted to 1050 (at a rate of 22.41%). Inpatients amounted to 1,105 cases (at a rate of 23.58%), and the cases referred to the outpatient clinics amounted to 2,434 (at a rate of 51.94% of all referred cases).
It's worth mentioning that ‘Ehalati’ Program is reckoned one of the new e-programs carried out by the Ministry of Health. Advantages of the program include providing medical counseling among physicians in the various medical facilities to study the health situation of the patient without the need for transferring him. It also provides all the logistic and coordination-related requirements to refer the patient from one medical facility to another.
