Eng. Al-Falih Commends the Joint GCC Health Action

His Excellency the Minister of Health and the Chairman of the 40th session of the GCC Health Ministers Council, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, has commended the accomplishments made by the joint GCC health action during the last period.
 
While visiting Tuesday evening, Ramadan 20th 1436H, corresponding to July 7th 2015, the headquarters of the Executive Bureau of the GCC Health Ministers Council, Eng. Al-Falih said that the rulers of the GCC countries are aspiring to a higher level of health services in accordance with their ambitions in this regard, and in line with the development witnessed in all fields in the GCC countries.
 
"The health challenge is great and everyone should work hard to boost health and safety of citizens and beneficiaries of health services," he said. Eng. Al-Falih underlined the importance of qualifying GCC health cadres in the field of patients' safety and quality of healthcare, as well as working to achieve the institutional health work within this system, and making use of the GCC health integration to upgrade health services.
 
In a similar fashion, Eng. Al-Falih has expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude for the hospitality he received from the Director General of the Executive Bureau of the GCC Health Ministers Council, Dr. Tawfik Khoja, and the employees of the executive bureau, confirming the success of this visit and this fraternal meeting by all standards. A number of successful scientific and health programs that won various regional and international appreciation awards were reviewed.
 
Likewise, Eng. Al-Falih said, "The achievements made by this bureau were expected from the Director General of the Executive Bureau, who is accustomed to upgrading, improving and developing the sector of health services at the GCC level, and carrying out such activities.” Eng. Al-Falih cited the existing programs, noting that the activities that received appraisal of the brothers at the Saudi Health Ministry will be the focus of our attention.
 
On his part, the Director-General of the Executive Bureau of the GCC Health Ministers Council, Dr. Tawfik Khoja has welcomed His Excellency the Minister of Health and his valued companions to the headquarters of the executive bureau, meanwhile lauding the efforts exerted by Eng. Al-Falih to coordinate, integrate and develop the health programs carried out by the bureau within the framework of the joint GCC health work and to facilitate many of matters and issues hindering the work of the bureau with regard to health aspects between the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia and the executive bureau in Riyadh.
 
Dr. Khoja also expressed his happiness that the visit comes while the bureau is gearing up to mark the 40th anniversary of this Gulf edifice through a march full of work and giving, in which many achievements and greater success contributed clearly to strengthening and consolidating ties among the GCC countries in the health field.
 
Additionally, he indicated that this visit represents a major turning point in the history of the work of this council for carrying on the march of construction and development under a farsighted vision of the leadership which gives priorities to developing such GCC specialized councils to play their roles to the fullest.
 
Dr. Khoja lauded the support given by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for this GCC vital entity. Also, he praised the support and care given by His Excellency the Minister of Health for the Executive Bureau as well as the achievements of the 79th meeting of the GCC Health Ministers Council in Geneva under Eng. Al-Falih’s leadership, where many issues of concern to the council members were discussed.
 
Dr. Khoja described the Minister's leadership as wise, precise, farsighted and subjective. “Eng. Al-Falih deals with all issues smoothly, and the Council was able to issue decisions that aimed at developing plans and programs to be implemented during the coming period at the Gulf level, thanks to his distinctive thought and clear approach,” Dr. Khoja said.
 
It's noteworthy that His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih has paid a visit Tuesday evening to the headquarters of the Executive Bureau of the GCC Health Ministers Council located at the Embassies District in Riyadh and reviewed a number of programs and activities undertaken by the executive bureau. During his visit, Eng. Al-Falih was accompanied by His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs, Mr. Hamad bin Muhammad al-Duweila.
