MOH Organizes Tomorrow the Fourth Forum for Staff of Diabetes Centers and Units

In the presence of the Deputy Minister for Therapeutic Services, Dr. Tareef Yousef Alaama, the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Diabetes Units and Centers Department, will organize tomorrow (Wednesday) the Fourth Forum for Staff of Diabetes Centers and Units. The event will be held in Jeddah from Jumadah II 25th to 27th 1436 H, (corresponding to April 14th to 16th, 2015), under the theme (Diabetes Is under Control).
 
On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Al-Harbi, the Director of Diabetes Units and Centers pertaining to the MOH’s Hospitals General Department, pointed out that the department is very keen to organize this forum annually, and this year it comes under the theme (Diabetes Is under Control), to underline the importance and the role of the diabetes units and centers in controlling diabetes.
 
Similarly, Dr. Al-Harbi said that the activities of the forum include a scientific meeting for the physicians to review diabetes developments and treatment at all ages, in addition to workshops for staff of diabetes units and centers, including diabetes educators, diabetic foot care nurses and nutritionists).
 
In a similar fashion, Dr. Al-Harbi explained that the forum will be accompanied by an exhibition for the activities of the diabetes units and centers to highlight the most significant services provided by each center. He added that out of the participating centers, the best three ones will be selected by a constellation of professors and physicians concerned with diabetes treatment from inside and outside the Kingdom.
 
In addition, he said that the forum will witness community activities for educating the public about diabetes with the participation of the Saudi Charitable Association of Diabetes, noting that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) has accredited 11 hours of continued medical education for the forum.
