Dr. Al-Limki: "The Conference Theme Proves Importance of Measurement in Reviewing and Evaluating Health Services"

The Member of the Executive Board of the GCC Health Ministers Council and Representative of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Saied bin Harib Al-Limki, said that the theme selected for the 78th Conference of the GCC Health Ministers Council, currently taking place in the Saudi capital city of Riyadh, comes to prove the importance of measurement in reviewing and evaluating the health services and achieving excellence in their provision.
 
The event, which is held under the theme: "Measuring Health Systems' Performance: the Way to Excellence", is organized by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Executive Board of the GCC Health Ministers Council.
 
He added that the conference comes in continuation of the march and efforts of the GCC Health Ministers Council to promote and support plans and strategies aiming at developing all services provided for the GCC citizens in the different health sectors.
 
Dr. Al-Limki pointed out that the conference will provide the opportunity for the GCC health ministers to exchange experiences and views on what have been actually achieved in the Council states.
 
"We hope that the conference will come up with decisions that meet aspirations of the GCC states with regard to achieving health security, strengthening the health system and consolidating the Gulf states' capabilities to confront various challenges facing the health systems; that is to be added to continuing the Gulf health march to achieve more successes to be reflected in the scientific indicators of achievements," he added.
 
Dr. Al-Limki said, "We look forward to discussing many important issues during the conference. Besides the main theme, namely measurement of health systems performance, the conference will discuss fighting non-communicable diseases, health care quality, patient safety, migrant workers, smoking control and alternative medicine; that is to be added to approving specialized centers in the member states and tackling the unified procurement program. We hope that the conference will achieve the desired goals."
 
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Limki expressed his happiness and praised the efforts of the Executive Board and its technical, administrative and financial bodies to follow up and implement decisions issued by the council. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for warm hospitality and good organization of the conference.
