MOH Wins Gulf Excellence Award in Spreading Awareness through E-Social Media

   The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reached a new milestone in the field of health awareness by winning the Gulf Excellence Award in Health Media, organized by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) of Ministers of Health.
 
The Ministry of Health has taken steps in order to take advantage of all the developments in the world of information technology. Furthermore, MOH has been spreading health information in a simple way, using popular social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others. Moreover, the Media Information and Health Awareness Center sends scientific awareness messages on a daily basis using social networks, as well as answering inquiries through the toll-free number: 8002494444, provided by the Ministry to serve citizens and residents and to provide information and guidance on health matters.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the first bodies in the region to benefit from social networking websites and channels in the field of health education via its portal www.moh.gov.sa.
 
On the occasion of winning this award, the Supervisor-General of Information and Health Awareness, Dr. Khalid Marglani, has expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin AbdulAziz Al Rabeeah, for supporting the Media Information and Health Awareness Center. HE’s generous support is reflected in the quality of services provided to citizens, implementing the Leadership’s directives to provide high-quality services to all the people of the Kingdom.
 
The award won by the Saudi Ministry of Health aims to develop innovation and creativity among employees and people interested in information and health education in the GCC states. It also aims to encourage creative people to contribute to promoting health by influencing individuals and communities and encouraging them to adopt healthy behaviors.
