His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development, Dr. Mohammad Bin Hamza Khoshaim, is going to open the 3rd Scientific Meeting, entitled (Providing Therapeutic Nutrition to Critical Cases in the Intensive Care Unit), organized by the Nutrition General Department, at the Ministry of Health. Moreover, the Meeting will be accompanied by an educational exhibition, where many specialized bodies and related private institutions are expected to participate. In addition, a number of scientists and experts from the Ministry of Health, governmental hospitals, private sector and bodies related to therapeutic nutrition services will participate in the meeting. The event will take place on Wednesday morning, 1st February 2012, and will include two scientific sessions and a panel discussion, as recommendations and suggestions will be announced at the end of the meeting. The meeting aims to identify the ways and means of providing therapeutic nutrition to critical cases in the intensive care unit (ICU), as well as activating and applying therapeutic nutrition to critical cases in health institutions.
The Meeting targets all bodies related to therapeutic nutrition services in MOH hospitals, and the similar governmental bodies as well as the relevant private sector. In addition, it specially targets the doctors working in these fields: intensive care medicine, surgery, internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, as well as pharmacists, nutrition specialists and technicians working in intensive care and nursing units, aside from people interested in nutrition, and students of therapeutic nutrition, and food and nutrition. Furthermore, 6 hours of continuous training, approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), will be delivered to the participants in the meeting.
