08 May 2013
Within the framework the intensive efforts of the active epidemiological surveillance for Coronavirus, and carrying out the preventive procedures against it, in concordance with the guidelines and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Scientific Committee of Infectious Diseases, and according to the survey procedures that have been taken, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has pointed out that the appearance of new cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) of the new Corona pattern in the governorate of Al-Ahsa has been –May Allah be praised- reduced, starting from the date of 1stMay, 2013 (corresponding to 21st Jumada Al-Akhera, 1434 H).

Moreover, by reviewing and following up the previously infected cases that have been announced and those in contact with them, from which samples had been taken on 29th April, 2013 (corresponding to 19 Jumada Al-Akhera, 1434 H) as it was expounded by MOH, it announced that two citizens have been recorded to be injured with the disease, one of them, aged 58 years, has been released from the hospital two days ago after receiving the proper treatment, while the other, aged 42 years, is still in hospital receiving the treatment and his condition is stable.

Within the same vein, MOH assures everybody, meanwhile, it would like to underscore the importance of adherence to the health guidelines; in order to reduce the spread of flu in general, including maintaining to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or disinfectants, especially after coughing or sneezing, and using tissue when coughing or sneezing, as well as avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth by hand. In addition, Coronavirus is one of the viruses that affect the respiratory system; representing 15% of the viruses that cause flu in human beings. However, this pattern is new, and there is so far no accurate information worldwide about the source of the virus or its means of transmission. Also, there is no preventive vaccination or antibiotic treatment against this virus.

It is noteworthy that MOH had already directed a number of medical tips and guidelines to citizens and residents, in order to raise the health awareness of this virus, as well as identifying the preventive ways against it, and how to deal with it in several ways, including social media.
May Allah protect our country from all evils, and perpetuate the blessings of health and wellness upon everyone.
