Governor of Eastern Region Opens a New Mental Health Hospital in Al Ahsa

Ministry of Health Spokesman, Dr. Khaled AL Mergelani, stated that HRH the Governor of the Eastern Region, Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad, opened on Monday the new Mental Hospital in AL Ahsa, along with 5 model primary health care centers with the presence of HE the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah. This initiative resulted due to the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques directions in regard of establishing new health centers.  

Dr. AL Mergelani added that such hospital will make a quantum leap in curative and rehabilitative mental health provided services for patients through highly qualified specialists.
The hospital consist of 100 beds and total cost of establishment has reached 99 million SR, including building compounds and support services facilities, while new health centers total cost has reached 3.5 million SR. The Ministry of Health is recently establishing 16 new mental hospitals across the Kingdom with 4150 bed capacity.
Dr. Al Mergelani added that such projects proves our leadership commitment and dedication to provide high quality of health care services to Saudi citizens.
