His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, hosted in his office at MOH Headquarters His Excellency the President of General Auditing Bureau (GAB), Osama bin Jaafar Faqih, accompanied by a number of GAB officials.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Al- Rabeeah welcomed the President and officials of GAB, stressing the desire of the Ministry of Health to adopt the principle of transparency and clarity to enhance healthcare in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, several MOH officials have discussed strategic plans and approved health facilities development programs, in addition to some of the challenges faced by the Ministry, holding it back from achieving its goals.
Moreover, the topics presented to the officials of the General Auditing Bureau included the Ministry’s new programs and achievements over the past few years, the development of preventive medicine, internal control programs, information and communications technology, the development of medical supply, and administrative and financial affairs, in addition to a review of future projects.
His Excellency the President of GAB praised the excellent programs and specific objectives pursued by the Ministry of Health. His Excellency has also expressed his admiration of MOH roadmap to reach its goals.
Mr. Faqih stressed that MOH officials will be supported and all weaknesses will be tackled. In addition, he spoke about the difficulties facing the Ministry of Health in hiring foreign medical and technical staff, hoping that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Foreign Scholarships would contribute in replacing them with qualified national efficient staff.
Furthermore, the President of GAB suggested during the meeting scheduling meetings between the two parties and exchanging notes to ensure keeping workflow optimized, and addressing the constraints, if any.
The role of GAB is to support governmental agencies, especially those related to citizens, not looking for their mistakes.
Besides, Dr. Al Rabeeah agreed on establishing more partnerships and cooperation between the Ministry and the General Auditing Bureau. This partnership between sectors, Al-Rabeeah said, comes in line with the policies of the Ministry of Health to firmly ingrain the transparency and integrity principles already adhered to by the Ministry. The Ministry is keen to exert more efforts to enhance health services and the performance of MOH facilities, he concluded.
