All pilgrims enjoy good health, Al-Mane
02 December 2008
The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane has described the health status of the current year's pilgrims as satisfactory. He said all pilgrims have abided by respective vaccinations and no epidemic or quarantine diseases have ever been detected. He attributed the situation to divine providence and concern paid by the Royal Court and relative health bodies to implement the Hajj health requirements set by MOH.

He especially valued the cooperation of Saudi embassies and representations in the source countries as well as the cooperation of officials in those countries in implementing carefully the Hajj health requirements.

He said the Ministry of Health will follow up the task of implementing the health requirements after arrival of pilgrims to the Kingdom through providing vaccines at all terrestrial, marine, and air openings and monitoring the health situation during Hajj rituals.

The Ministry of Health has prepared for this purpose a total of 24 hospitals with an overall capacity of 3939 beds in the Sacred Capital, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, and the Sacred Shrines, in addition to 138 health centers and a mobile fleet of 150 highly equipped ambulances.
